RODRIGO BAUMGRATZ
Visual Artist and Creative Director from Minas Gerais living in São Paulo. Graduated in Advertising, with a postdegree in Fashion Marketing at Istituto Europeo di Design (IED SP).
Designer for 15 years; In 2011, Me and three friends formed The Basement Tracks. A band. A band that eventually became the laboratory where I developed my posters, paintings, photographs, and audiovisual practices with music videos. Initially, I started by creating projections for live performances. Later, graphic art for posters and album covers became my main means of expression.
Basement Tracks is an art-rock project (heavily inspired by Andy Warhol and the Velvet Underground), not just music. Exploring the intersection of visual arts, music, and fashion, I began to test my creations across different mediums, layering them on top of each other. In this regard, I started collaborating with A Gira (mvf, Yma, Pelados) and other studios and production companies that allowed me to work with nationally recognized bands and artists such as Carne Doce, Biltre, Rosa Neon, Ana Frango Elétrico, and El Efecto. I also create graphic art for parties, such as Get it On and Diáspora Disco.
In 2023, as a final project for my postgraduate course at IED, I was one of the founders and creative director of the Ecoa Moda Regenerativa collective, which is currently in the process of raising funds. I am interested in the expanded field of arts and recording across various media. I enjoy documentary photography, observing people, and occasionally creating some paintings.
