Diáspora Disco #2; Sun Rá Edit.
This is a fictional person, it never existed.
June, 2023
It’s kind of crazy, but this party resonates so perfectly that I think it might have been, or at least partially been, responsible for a shift in my “style.” Everything I did for a long time could be called “minimalist”, black and white and blablabla; I still quite like that, Japanese design, and mostly the visual and mental silence I’m always seeking. But for a little over a year now, I’ve noticed that the things I was doing were changing. I don’t need to tell anyone about the “Basquiatesque” influence in all the posters of Diáspora; Basquiat fits the theme behind the party perfectly, but he is indeed one of my favorite painters. He and Mark Rothko, the search is for the middle path, if it exists.
